The CompanyThe Red Shutters is one of America's longest-lived interior design practices. Through three generations of inspired and dedicated service, the company has established itself as a trusted arbiter of taste, across America and around the world.
Chicago decorator Anna Bertolini founded The Red Shutters in 1950 and served as its principal designer for more than twenty years. In 1975, her son Michael Bertolini succeeded her. He moved the company twice, first to Manhattan, then to its present home in Orange County, New York. In 1999, Marina Case Alario acquired the company and became its third principal designer.
Marina embraces the formula that has made The Red Shutters successful for sixty years: a unique blend of fine New York style and warm local values. Clients of The Red Shutters benefit from Marina's superior taste, her resourcefulness, and her fiscal sensibility.
Six decades of satisfied clients and beautiful interiors have spread the reputation of The Red Shutters throughout the United States, to England and the Continent, and to Asia and beyond. For three proud generations, The Red Shutters has served as a trusted resource to those requiring good taste in any measure.
